Recently adapted into the major movie Nuremberg, The Nazi and the Psychiatrist tells the dark World War II story of Army psychiatrist Douglas M. Kelley’s encounter with the 22 top German political and military leaders held for trial at Nuremberg on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. During Kelley’s quest to find a psychiatric disorder that accounts for the heinous crimes of the defendants, he squares off against the charming, cruel, and highly intelligent Hermann Göring, the highest ranking of the prisoners.
